I'm Ileana Frómeta Grillo

Ileana Frómeta Grillo was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Immersed in the study of different art modalities in her native country, in 1980 Ileana moved to California and continued her art education with special attention to the areas of drawing, painting and photography. With the advent of digital drawing and imaging technology, Ileana has found the perfect medium in which to combine her fine arts and photography training into a unique visual interpretation.  Her artwork contains imagery and symbolism culled from her Caribbean and South American roots and combines a traditional style with modern elements. She has exhibited and sold her pieces in the US and Internationally, and her work has also been showcased in a variety of books and magazine publications. She now lives in Laguna Beach, California, along with her husband Tim and their two rambunctious little dogs.

Ileana Frómeta Grillo nació en Caracas, Venezuela. Comenzó sus estudio de Arte desde temprana edad en Caracas. En 1980, Ileana se trasladó a California en donde profundizó sus estudios de dibujo, pintura, escultura y fotografía. En 1988, Ileana comenzó a incursionar en el arte digital con el programa “Painter” en una computadora Macintosh. Usando esta nueva tecnología, ella ilustró el cuento para niños “La Bicicleta de Nubes,” ahora en su segunda impresión. Esta experiencia dió paso al desarrollo de una serie de pinturas enteramente elaboradas en este medio digital. En cualquiera de sus expresiones plásticas, el arte de Ileana combina elementos modernos y tradicionales, y utiliza imágenes y símbolos que la vinculan a sus raíces Caribeñas y Sur Americanas. Ileana ha tenido la oportunidad de exhibir su obra Nacional e Internacionalmente. Su trabajo también ha sido cubierto en numerosas publicaciones. Ileana vive en Laguna Beach, California, con su esposo Tim, y dos perritos traviesos.
